It looks like the gaming space is quickly getting populated with many portable consoles. Nintendo Switch isn’t the only best option nowadays as it’s facing numerous rivals in the form of Valve’s Steam Deck and recently Asus ROG ALLY. It’s safe to say that the number of handheld devices is only going to escalate in the near future. With that being said, Sony has also eventually announced a compact product recently, during the PlayStation Showcase event.

Yes, the company behind the successful console series has now decided to enter the handheld market as well. However, the device announced by the PlayStation maker hasn’t been received well by majority of the people on social media. Not to mention that they have got some valid reasons for not liking it.

Here’s why fans are not getting good vibes from PlayStation Q

To begin with, PlayStation Q is going to be a streaming only device. Which means, it can only run games on WiFi and high speed internet. Sony has made it clear in its announcement that it won’t be support native gaming. The users will be able to run the titles installed on their PS5 on this product through streaming.

As soon as the news on this device, revealed during the PlayStation Showcase event, broke out, it’s been mostly attracting unfavorable reactions. Following the announcement, Sony took to its official Twitter account to tweet about PS Q in order to make the fans excited and hyped. However, their response was not something the company was expecting.

Seems like a lot of gaming enthusiasts are assuming the upcoming streaming-only product to be Sony’s effort to copy Nintendo Switch. On the other hand, some of the individuals think that the limitation of not supporting native gaming will result in its downfall. A few of them also mentioned that Sony’s decision to come up with something like this is a bad idea altogether. “Copying the switch essentially”, wrote one disappointed user.
