Microsoft might be planning a new tier for Xbox Game Pass
Xbox Game Pass has already attracted numerous subscribers. They have managed to create a substantial userbase of Xbox and PC gamers on this service by offering some big titles free of cost at launch. However, Microsoft wants even more people to join in.
To attract more potential subscribers Microsoft has been doing a number of things, the biggest would be their attempt to acquire Activision Blizzard. Moreover, now it is
rumored that they might be planning to introduce a new price tier to this service.Aside from the basic Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, users might soon get an option of one more tier that is cheaper and ad-based.
The cheaper tier would reportedly have all of the games on it. However, when players would start a game, they would have to sit through an advertisement before the game launches.

Microsoft recently patented a personalized ad technology too
Microsoft also recently patented a technology that would allow them to show gamers personalized ads in-game. This means the cheaper Xbox Game Pass or not, Microsoft is planning to feature ads in their Xbox and PC games sometime in the future.
This is nothing unheard of, only before this used to happen in mobile games. Those ads, however, were not personalized. For those unaware, personalized ads means that users would only see ads that match their lifestyle and spending habits.
