Pedro Pascal reveals he didn’t play The Last of Us games in order to not imitate Joel in the TV series
As reported by VGC, the actor recently interacted with a magazine in which he discussed about the awaited show. While mentioning his preparation for the memorable character of Joel, he revealed a stunning fact.
Pedro Pascal said that he deliberately avoided playing The Last of Us. Furthermore, he resisted himself experiencing the games too much. And he approached this way to focus on Joel in a manner that will be great for the HBO series.

He said, “I found Joel so impressive – I found the whole of it such a visually impressive experience. And then I got worried that I would want to imitate too much, which I think could be right in some circumstances, and then a mistake in others.”
The idea here was to not repeat the same character behavior that has been already witnessed.
“So I just wanted to create a healthy distance, and for that to be more in the hands of Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.”
