However, it seems like the game has recovered from a shaky debut. So much so that it has eventually succeeded in breaking an all-time record in the franchise.

Ever since its official launch on October 4, Overwatch 2 has stunned everyone with addictive gameplay, to say the least. Although there have been some issues, the majority of gamers have thoroughly enjoyed it. And the proof is that it just topped 25 million players within two weeks of release!

Overwatch 2 breaks franchise record, gains over 25 million users in 10 days of launch!

Coming as a sequel to its 2016 predecessor, the newest entry comes with an enhanced experience. Plus, there’s a new character as well, of Japanese origin, who’s named Kiriko. A major change from the first game is that now there’s only a 5v5 option in the PvP mode.

Speaking of the release, then Overwatch 2, so far, has managed to please most of the players. The official account of the game shared the biggest proof of it recently, while revealing a newly accomplished milestone by the latest offering. The title has attracted more than 25 million players in just ten days of its worldwide launch.

Moreover, it not only attracted 25+ million users but Overwatch 2 also broke the first entry’s stats as well. Industry insider Benji, on Twitter, revealed that compared to the original, it’s way beyond.

For those who are interested in numbers, the first game gained 7 million users in a week, 10 million players in three weeks, and 60 million players in a period of four years and eleven months. Meanwhile, fans on social media seemingly agreed with the newly released stats for the fresh installment.

Most of the players are already in love with Overwatch 2, as some people are already calling it a GOTY contender. “Game of the year,” wrote one user on Twitter while praising the game.
