The feud between the Federal Trade Commission and Microsoft is a hot topic these days. The Federal Trade Commission brought a lawsuit against Microsoft in December 2022 to stop them from acquiring gaming giant Activision Blizzard Inc. for a staggering $69 billion. The FTC’s point was that this acquisition would result in a degradation of Activision’s titles, a pricing difference, and a monopoly of Windows.
Now, on Thursday, this legal rift has taken a huge turn. The FTC’s appeal to the judge’s decision has made fans angry, as the Federal Trade Commission’s Wikipedia page was vandalized in many ways.

FTC Appeals Microsoft-Activision Deal Verdict, Amplifying the Console War
Earlier this week, Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley ordered a preliminary injunction against Microsoft’s $69 billion deal with Activision Blizzard. This was a huge win for Microsoft. On Thursday, the Federal Trade Commission appealed the judge’s decision. This appeal has provoked a fan, who accused the FTC of favoring Sony and doing its bidding.

This allegation is not coming only from the fans. On a hearing on April 18, a Republican representative, Diana Harshbarger, asked FTC Chairperson Lina Khan about the bias of the FTC towards Sony. Lina Khan tried to dismiss the allegation by saying that the agency always gets feedback from all of the market participants. And also stated that this attempt to block the deal was purely “based on the law and the facts.”
How the FTC Wikipedia Page Was Vandalized
Fans around the world have protested against the Federal Trade Commission for its partiality towards Sony by defacing its Wikipedia page. The fans replaced the FTC flag with a PlayStation logo. The protest doesn’t end here. They also added Jim Ryan’s name, who is the CEO of PlayStation, to the column of the Agency Executive of the FTC. They also changed the website name to Sony’s website.
