Elden Ring is one of the most successful games of the last few years; in fact, some can even say it is the game that brought FromSoftware into the spotlight. The game was one of the biggest successes for publisher Namco Bandai. And it became the best-selling game for FromSoftware.

That’s why it’s not even surprising if the developer and publishers decided to support this game with an insanely large DLC. This DLC was revealed last year and is called Shadow of the Erdtree. But it appears they have much more planned beyond this expansion.

FromSoftware really created an expansive universe with Elden Ring. The game is one of the most immersive titles out there. It even has a story that reminds gamers of some of the wildest anime they have ever seen.

To expand this world and tell a new story set in this universe, FromSoftware decided to announce a DLC called Shadow of the Erdtree. It is pretty obvious from the name itself that this game will feature Miquella as its main focus. This has many fans excited, given that Miquella is one of those characters who was missing from the main story. The mysteries that surround him and the stories that NPCs tell about him have everyone curious.

But it looks like the flow of new content for this game will not stop with Shadow of the Erdtree. In a recent financial report, Kadokawa, the parent company of Namco Bandai, mentioned that they have plans to expand the Elden Ring IP.

The report specifically mentioned the release of Armored Core VI: Fired of Rubicon as this year’s highlight. And then it said, “Various measures are currently in progress for Elden Ring, including the development of major DLC, to maximize LTV.”

This can also mean that this franchise has the potential to go beyond the limits of video games. Fans can expect to see these games turn into animated or even live-action series. And who knows, it might expand to movies. After all, the co-creator of Elden Ring’s universe is none other than George R.R. Martin, who has a knack for bringing his works to the world of live-action storytelling.

Whatever Namco and Kadokawa might be planning, fans will always welcome it with open arms. Only if it does not mean From Software would have to get stuck in this game forever.
