  • Zantetsuken

While the Zantetsuken is traditionally Odin’s signature weapon that has arrived in several past titles. Furthermore, its incarnation in Final Fantasy XIII already drew several fans’ attention toward the weapon.

The sword’s name translates to “iron-cutting sword”, implying the blade can slice through metal with ease. It’s a pair of identical large curved swords that each form a hook shape. The Zantetsuken can be wielded as either two individual swords or a single double-bladed sword.

  • Save the Queen

The ‘Save the Queen’ is one of the most iconic weapons of the series. It is the only ultimate weapon whose materials can be obtained without leaving Balamb Garden. Furthermore, it is Quistis’s most powerful whip modeled from Malboro Tentacle x2, Sharp Spike x4, and Energy Crystal x4.

Interestingly, it can only be equipped by Beatrix in the franchise. Players can get it in their inventory in the endgame via synthesis; however, no character can equip this weapon.

  • Masamune

The Masamune weapon is one of the strongest weapons in the series. Moreover, it can be equipped by all warrior classes and is located on the air floor of the Chaos Shrine. It is usually one of the most powerful katanas or swords that is discovered often quite late in the game.

Interestingly, the Masamune weapon is a recurring weapon since the original Final Fantasy. Therefore, it’s one of the deadliest weapons in the game that provides 150 Attack, 90% Accuracy, and 4% Evade, and when used as an item, can also cast Haste XI.

  • Revolver (Gunblade)

The Gun blade is one of the coolest weapons introduced in the series. Furthermore, its release was able to draw several fans toward the franchise because of its amazing game-changing mechanics.

Interestingly, Gunblade is a sword with a firing mechanism, such as a pistol. Because of its exciting firing mechanism, most players prefer Gunblade over other sword weapons.

  • Lion Heart

Lion Heart is another famous recurring weapon in the series from the start. It is famous for being Squall Leonhart’s strongest gunblade in Final Fantasy VIII.

Similar to Gunblade, Lion Heart also includes the firing mechanism, which makes it stand out from other weapons. Moreover, after Zell’s Duel, Lion Heart becomes the strongest Limit Break that can easily annihilate its enemies.

  • Ragnarok

Ragnarok, the Norse gods’ apocalyptic war, is given the form of a mighty sword in Final Fantasy. Cecil Harvey’s Crystal Sword is a Ragnarok, and it’s also wielded by other characters like Cloud Strife and Adelbert Steiner.

Buster Sword may not be considered the strongest weapon in the series; however, it’s indeed the most iconic weapon of all time. Interestingly, Cloud starts out with the Buster Sword at the beginning of his journey.

Moreover, players can also notice Buster Sword in several promotional materials, concept art, and the game’s cover art as well. Not to forget, with necessary upgrades, Buster Sword can still help players annihilate enemies and overcome numerous objectives throughout the entire game.

  • Ultima Weapon

When it comes to ranking the all-time best weapon of the Final Fantasy series, Ultima Weapon takes the first spot. Ultima Weapon, also known as Atma Weapon, is considered the single strongest, coolest, and most long-lived super-weapon.

The Ultima Weapon is known for dealing damage based on how much HP the wielder currently has. So, it can be wildly strong or incredibly weak, depending on the situation. Since Ultima Weapons depends on users’ HP stat instead of physical stats, it’s quite a unique and enjoyable weapon in players’ eyes.
