Creating a movie out of Sony’s popular Gran Turismo franchise was no easy task. A video game series that follows not even a minimal story arc has a chance of ending up getting translated into a very generic movie. But Neil Blomkamp and the writers of the upcoming Gran Turismo film seem to have done the impossible. They have made an intriguing movie based on this long-running racing sim franchise.
And while this movie has yet to release, the Super Mario Bros. movie is breaking pretty much every record out there. It received mixed critical reviews and universal acclaim from the general audience and fans of the games alike. It became so successful that multiple sequels are on the way.
Hence, one excited fan on Twitter suggested that now it is time for a Metroid movie to happen. He even tagged Blomkamp in this post. The reason for this tag is pretty clear too: Blomkamp has made a bunch of exciting sci-fi movies, such as District 9 and Elysium.
