As of now, not much has been revealed by Nintendo regarding this game’s story, but some things are clear: it is a direct sequel to 2017’s Breath of the Wild, and it features a completely new area called the Sky Islands.

Now there’s some speculation that those sky islands might be the remains of the Sacred Realms. The world of Hyrule was previously cut off from this reality due to the malice that is visible in the sky when Ganondorf is reawakened. It is also being said that those three dragons from the previous game that simply flew around without bothering anyone might play a part in helping Link recreate the connection with the Sacred Realms.

The main focus of the story would be to reforge the already broken master sword, which we have talked about previously. This sword is destroyed when Ganon attacks Link; this attack also damages Link’s hand pretty badly.

Tears in the name refer to the sadness and hopelessness that surround the real world of Hyrule when Zelda is lost underground after a devastating attack from Ganon. Everyone thinks she is dead and thinks they have no way of surviving anymore.

Players would be exploring the underground and a bunch of newly unlocked areas of the world. This also gives players access to some items that allow them to explore even deeper. This game has been expanded pretty much in all directions.

This is pretty much all that we could get from various sources, and let’s not forget that all of this is pretty much speculative, so it must be taken with a grain of salt. All would be revealed once the game launches though.

Gameplay has received a number of upgrades too!

The most important thing about this game’s gameplay mechanics is that it is as open as Breath of the Wild; players would have as much freedom with this one as they had with the previous game. But this game would also see the return of a bunch of traditional dungeons too.

Weapon durability is returning, but thanks to the new crafting mechanics, weapons can now be repaired and modified. This time around, players would be able to store their stuff in various locations in the game world.

Some even say that the craft has been extensively expanded. Weapons, vehicles, and everything else players crafted before are part of this system.

The biggest change that we have heard of is the tent. Players would be able to set up a tent in the game world and rest for the night or at any specified time. These camps would allow players to cook and craft too.
