Now, Blumhouse Productions recently released a supernatural horror live-action movie based on this famous franchise. And the movie received an unexpectedly overwhelming response on its domestic opening day.

Films or series based on famous video game titles are not new. Previously Mario brothers received an unbelievable love from the audience when Nintendo brought the characters on the cinematic platform. PlayStation’s The Last of Us also received a great amount of love from people. And now with Five Nights at Freddy’s grand domestic opening success, it seems that the audience is keen to see more video game characters on the big screen.

Five Nights at Freddy’s achieves a grand domestic opening 

In Five Nights at Freddy’s, players had a rollercoaster joyride of experiences being a night security guard at a Pizzeria, where they met homicidal animals. And now fans can finally see this video game in a completely new avatar. Directed by Emma Tammi, Five Nights at Freddy’s movie was released under Blumhouse Productions with Scott Cawthon Productions. Scott Cawthon is the original creator of this famous video game franchise. While the budget for the film was $20 million, it achieved $39.5 million on its domestic opening day.

And it is a remarkable success for a video game-based movie. Not just that but this great box-office revenue presents Five Nights at Freddy’s movie as the second-best 2023 Fall opening after Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour!

Critics believe that this grand opening day success of Five Nights at Freddy’s earned more than Nintendo’s successful cinema project, The Super Mario Bros. Movie!

But this is not the end of Five Nights at Freddy’s success. This is because aiming $78 million on the domestic opening weekend, Five Nights at Freddy’s marked one of the largest Halloween week openings and one of the largest horror openings as well.

this movie’s box-office success superseded both Universal and Blumhouse Production’s recent horror movie, The Exorcist: Believer. How cool is that?
