Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most-anticipated video game experiences this year. The developers behind the action-adventure title haven’t yet given out the release date but have announced a release window of Holiday 2022 instead. However, the lack of a concrete release date has caused fans to speculate about a possible delay in release, as far as early 2023.

Hogwarts Legacy had an initial release window in 2021, but suffered a delay into 2022, due to constraints. Early this year, Avalanche Software announced a release window, alongside revealing official gameplay and other details over the course of days. However, fans are still awaiting on pre-order details and a release date.

Now, a new update from a notable source has confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will indeed release this year. Although it is not enough to compensate for a release date, the update eases out the wild rumor regarding a disappointing delay.

Hogwarts Legacy will release later this year

According to the popular content creator and notable Harry Potter enthusiast, Cherry Wallis, the game will release in 2022. She tweeted the same after Avalanche Studios’ Community Manager, Chandler Wood, mentioned meeting her on the first day of Leaky Con 2022 in Orlando. In fact, Eriq Martin, Marketing Manager for Avalanche Software was also there!

As fans can decipher, Cherry must have received another official nod to the game releasing in 2022. She had to reinstate the faith of fans and hence posted the reassuring statement. So, there’s no delay in the schedule, after all!

For the unaware, Leaky Con is a Harry Potter convention for Potterheads! This year, the first instance of the convention is happening in Orlando from July 29 to July 31. A second instance will happen in Denver from October 14 to October 16.

Along with Cherry Wallis, several other notable Harry Potter personalities will also visit Orlando’s convention. They include Afshan Azad, Chris Rankin, Sean Biggerstaff, Chanel Williams, and more. The Leaky Con convention didn’t happen for the past couple of years, owing to the pandemic. With its return, several Potterheads will make sure to not miss it.

Returning to the game in question, Hogwarts Legacy is undoubtedly going to win a lot of hearts with its release. As a result, a little delay will only allow the developers to sharpen up the quality! Nonetheless, the much-awaited video game adaption of Harry Potter’s beloved world of Wizardry and Witchcraft will definitely be a strong contender for the ‘game of the year’ award.
