Some information has leaked about the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2023. Microsoft has been organizing the Xbox Games Showcase annually to demonstrate its latest games and to talk about the recent updates in Xbox. The event has launched some of Microsoft’s most popular titles, including Halo, Gears of War, and Forza Horizon. This year, however, Microsoft is switching things up. The tech giant has decided to combine the Xbox Games Showcase with Starfield Direct.
Bethesda’s highly anticipated space role-playing game Starfield will be the main attraction this year. Scheduled for release on September 6, 2023, it is the first major update on the game following its announcement in 2018.

Twitter leaker WalkingCat has leaked the timings of the event. It should be noted that the event’s timings have been corrected by senior eSports editor Tom Warren. The Xbox Games Showcase & the Starfield Direct event will be held on June 11, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Pacific Time), which is shown as 12:00 AM in the tweet. Warren also thinks Microsoft probably divided the event into 90 mins for the Xbox Games Showcase and 30 mins for the Starfield Direct.

Despite popular expectations, the recent Xbox Development Direct did not include any gameplay from Starfield. Also, what Xbox plans to present for the remainder of the show is yet unknown. According to IGN, fans would get to see games like Forza Motorsport and Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. Some Xbox exclusives like Ark 2, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 might also be making appearances this year.
This event might also shed some light on the ongoing emulator bans on Xbox.
Nintendo is not the reason for the Xbox emulator ban
Microsoft recently started banning the Xbox third-party emulators. Many fans suspected Nintendo to be the reason behind these bans. Now, Microsoft has released a statement clearing all doubts accusing Nintendo.

“The information currently circulating on Twitter is not accurate,” Microsoft shared a statement with IGN recently. “Our actions are based on a longstanding policy on content distributed to the Store to ensure alignment with our Microsoft Store Policies. Per 10.13.10, products that emulate a game system or game platform are not allowed on any device family.”
