The much-awaited title, MLB The Show 22, developed by San Diego Studio, has finally given fans the first-ever look at the gameplay of the upcoming video game and the fans are loving it! The seventeenth entry in the mainline franchise releases this summer, on April 5, 2022. But the development progress and gameplay advancements were still unclear till very recently.

Fortunately, the trailer came out earlier today, and the community welcomed it with open arms. PlayStation’s official handle also shared the footage on Twitter.

The reception of the gameplay teaser was mostly positive and took to social media platforms to voice their opinions. Here’s how Twitter reacted to the revelation.

Developers release stunning new trailer for MLB The Show 22

The latest entry in the highly acclaimed franchise will release under the Sony Interactive Entertainment banner. Interestingly, despite the title’s publisher being Sony, they will not limit it to the PlayStation consoles. The Show 22 will release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, as well as the Nintendo Switch.

Although the finer details of the game are a gray area for the fans, MLB The Show 22 has revealed an astonishing new feature through the gameplay footage. In addition to the current Major League Baseball athletes, players will also witness MLB legend Randy ‘ The Big Unit’ Johnson, in the game. The Big Unit is featured in the last few seconds of the trailer, leaving fans wondering, as they struggled to believe what they saw.

Twitter reacts to icon additions to The Show

If you think that is where the icon list ends, you are mistaken. Former Philadelphia Phillies player Ryan Howard will also make his return to the video game for players to try out.

The trailer left many fans exhilarated and many of them took to Twitter to express their joy.

As for the other side of the coin, a few fans criticized the devs and claimed the trailer seemed to be similar to previous titles.
