Playground Games’ Xbox exclusive, Forza Horizon 5, hit the ground running on its worldwide launch on November 9. Over the week, the fifth installment in the critically acclaimed franchise has done justice to previous titles of the franchise, exceeding expectations in every aspect.
The gaming community welcomed Forza’s latest game with open arms; however, many, including critics, were awestruck when the title was not amongst the Game Awards 2021 nominees for Game of the Year.
But fans don’t need an accolade to show their love for, potentially, the “Best Sports/Racing Game” of the year. Within a week of Horizon 5’s launch, the game has garnered over 10 million players globally, breaking the records for the first week’s launches for both Xbox and Xbox Game Pass.

Forza’s performance at Game Awards 2021
Disappointingly for the many fans of the sensational game, the Forza was snubbed at the most-awaited award show of the year, Game Awards 2021. Nominations for the same were revealed earlier this week and Forza Horizon 5 did not make the cut for the “Game of the Year” nomination.
However, the title was nominated for the “Best Sports/Racing Game.” Against the likes of FIFA 22, F1 2021, Hot Wheels Unleased, and Riders Republic. Horizon 5 also has the chance to win the “Best Audio Design” and “Innovation in Accessibility” titles at The Game Awards this year.
