It seems like Epic Games’ initiative for Ukraine is already turning huge. On Sunday, it announced that it would donate all the proceeds from Fortnite, for the next two weeks, to humanitarian relief. And now it just revealed that there’s already been a massive amount earned for the cause.

Fortnite’s Season 2, named Resistance, is now underway and with that, its effort to contribute to Ukraine relief is also catching speed. As per the latest report, so far, the initiative has already raised $36 million, as of this writing.

Fortnite and Xbox’s collaboration for a noble cause turns huge with ‘Resistance’

Epic and Xbox announced on March 20th that they will contribute to the humanitarian relief for those affected in Ukraine.

And just a day after the official announcement, Fortnite succeeded in raising an astronomical sum of $36 million, according to Variety. Surely, it’s a big win for Epic and Xbox as they can hope to collect more amount in the coming days. Simply because the initiative is targeted for two weeks’ duration, until April 3rd, 2022.

Epic mentioned that the collected money will go to UNICEF, the World Food Programme of the UN, the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and Direct Relief.

In other news, Fortnite is back with a bang, introducing a fresh season in Resistance. Finally, all the battle royale lovers can engage themselves in highly intense matches once again.

For those who missed it, somehow, Season 2 brings in Marvel’s Doctor Strange as an unlockable character. His appearance was already rumored, though. It’s because the Sorcerer Supreme is coming back with a new MCU movie, Multiverse of Madness. The awaited superhero film will release in the month of May this year.

The latest season of Fortnite has wiped off the building, the most crucial aspect of the insanely popular multiplayer since its debut. However, it provides new abilities to the players like faster climbing and sprinting. There’s also an extra shield for their defense, more specifically named the ‘Overshield’.
