As can be discerned, Epic has confirmed that players will be able to interact and do things in the upcoming Operation: Sky Fire event. The Galactus live event was held during the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 finale. This live event was interactable, and players could move around and do things rather than just watching.

Coming back to the present, in a blog post, Epic, has confirmed that Dr. Slone and the IO are preparing to get rid of the aliens and rescue the Island.

The post further says, “Join a strike team and sneak aboard the Mothership to deliver IO’s final message to the invading Aliens.” This clearly suggests that players will need to go aboard the Mothership and do some fighting. While we still don’t know what IO’s plan is but it is certain that Fortnite Season 7 will end the invasion storyline.
