The newest skins of Thor Odinson in Fortnite received a lot of criticism at launch. The hate was primarily due to a limitation of the Stormbreaker pickaxe that prevented players from using it with all characters, except 4. However, unlike the Mjolnir which Mighty Thor yields now, Stormbreaker doesn’t have a curse laid on it. Hence, fans weren’t able to comprehend the Epic Games’ decision to limit the Stormbreaker.

According to fans of the original comics, anyone with enough physical power should be able to pick up Stormbreaker. However, the limitation in Fortnite allows only Thor Odinson, Mighty Thor, Captain America, and Thor to yield the Stormbreaker pickaxe. And, fans weren’t happy about that. In addition, many didn’t like Thor Odinson’s helmet.
Following the criticism, Epic Games had to do something about it. According to Epic Games, they have already implemented a change, coming as a part of the next update in the game.
Anyone in Fortnite will be able to pick up Stormbreaker now
As Epic Games mentions, the upcoming Fortnite update will change the mechanic of the Stormbreaker pickaxe. As it happens, players will be able to yield Thor Odinson’s weapon, regardless of the character skin they put on. In addition to the Stormbreaker pickaxe, the Stormbreaker’s Flight Glider was also restricted. However, the new update will change that too. As it happens, Epic Games will push the update on July 18.

Some had other suggestions for the pickaxe.
Cool now fix stormbreaker’s boring animation and make the handle longer it’s so short and stubby looking pic.twitter.com/JiVtjXtC4e

The upcoming update will also include other changes, including bug fixes and improvements. However, the change to Stormbreaker’s mechanics is a major one.

Fans were glad, but on one side, astonished at Epic Games’ diligence towards their feedback. Well, Epic Games had to do something to stop the declining sales of the Thor Love and Thunder skin bundle. Consequently, the change came pretty quickly.
This was affecting sales so of course they would fix it lol
