Fortnite is currently one of the world’s most popular and successful battle royale games. It is also what they call a live service title, live service titles are those that keep on going, updates keep coming and content keeps on getting added to these games to keep fans invested.

But Fortnite is also a game that is considered an eSport title. There are tournaments held for these games. Players compete against others to be the best and it is not a small feat either. It takes a very long time for gamers to get there. But there’s one gamer who did not waste any time getting to the top.

Team 33 once decided to add one more member to its very exclusive group of gamers. That member was Joseph Deen. He was invited by the California-based eSports team to their headquarters to sign a contract with them. He was then paid a signing amount of $33,000. Along with that signing amount, he was also given a high-end gaming PC to continue his gaming sessions.

He went on to tell BBC “I’ve thought about being a professional gamer a lot, but no one took me seriously until Team 33 came along.”

It must be said, it is good when someone achieves their goal in life, and little Joseph really did it pretty fast. When he signed that contract, he was on 8-years old.

Team 33’s chief executive and founder, Tyler Gallagher once said that they intend to make a brand out of Joseph Deen. He would be participating in tournaments with no cup. And they would be establishing a YouTube channel for him. And they would see how they can earn their $33,000 back through YouTube and Merchandising.

Participating in tournaments without a cup is a big deal, because the game is rated ‘Teen,’ and kids are also not allowed to participate in tournaments that involve any kind of cash amount.

What is his gaming setup like?

Another big thing here was, at the time of signing, Joseph was also given a very powerful gaming-focused PC.  Unequivocally, gaming setups of professional gamers require spending a hefty amount to evade the danger of getting a lag of even a single second. Plus, a reliable internet connection is what keeps the multiplayer servers running smoothly.

However, Deen’s PC’s specifications were not confirmed but what is known is that this PC’s value was in the ballpark of 5000$. And a 5000$ PC is seldom a slack. It is expected to be a very high-powered PC to be powered by some of the most powerful hardware available as no one would want the historical player lagging while dropping frags on the battle royale ground.

Where is the Youngest Esports Gamer today?

Major certification groups currently prohibit children from playing Fortnite. The game is rated ‘Teen’ and Joseph was only 8 years old at that time. Even though kids play games, they are too young to exclusively play games such as Call of Duty and GTA.

Participating in tournaments of such games was a whole different matter. Although he was capable and equipped well enough to participate in tournaments, Joseph would only be able to participate in real cash tournaments when he is at least 13 years old. He was even too young to stream on Twitch. Till then he would keep on practicing and getting better at the game that he loves so much.

When he was asked about his inspirations he simply said, “My dream is to be like Bugha and play like him. I look up to him because no one took him seriously until he won the World Cup and I feel the same.”
