Like all sports, Esports is also prone to cheaters taking undue advantage against opponents. However, for video games, it is easier for the devs to take notice of an illegal act and act accordingly. But it doesn’t always happen, as a recent Fortnite tournament final, with a cash prize involved, saw a cheater carrying on with his art without any attempts to stop him.
Fans can’t hold their rage on social media as the clip went viral, where one tourney player can clearly be seen using cheats like wallhacks and aimbot. As the outrage grows, we have to believe that devs Epic Games will hand out some bans real soon.
Cheaters still reign in Fortnite

Only a month ago, the Fortnite community was rocked by cheaters in a tournament. Fans were baffled to learn that even LAN events aren’t safe from cheating players trying to pull a fast one on the others. While casual gamers can still let such issues slide, professionals understandably take cheating more personally.
Epic Games only recently added tons of new materials to Fortnite as an attempt to bring back players to the game once again. And players didn’t hold back their appreciation for the devs as they kept busy for hours trying to settle in the UEFN Islands.

Under such circumstances, Fortnite tournaments have once again been the focus of the community. Fans are eager to see how the new additions impact pro players’ skills. With that in mind, you’d think tournaments with cash prizes will see players putting in more solemn efforts. But that’s not always the case.
Fans enraged at the cheating scandal
Popular content creator Jake Lucky raged on Twitter as he shared a clip of a cheater in the grand final of Fortnite eSports. He also noted how nothing is being done about it by devs and the cheater is doing his thing for two hours.

Fans couldn’t help but lash out at both the cheat as well as the devs. One user sounds sad as he speaks his mind.

Chris sees only one possible solution to this.
This is just the new state of multiplayer gaming.
Unless tourneys are private lobbies and some admin is done to filter the “bad eggs”, I assume we’ll always have to deal with cheaters. That doesn’t even truly fix it either.
It’s really sad TBH.

Here’s another Twitter user who thinks the cheaters are nothing but clowns.

SpicyDingle also thinks such a thing shouldn’t happen.
