On July 21, 2017, one of the most successful battle royale games, Fortnite made its debut. Today, the game is over six years old and has millions of active players at any given point. The game was a success even during its launch, with over 30 million players jumping into the game within the first 6 months of its launch. Considering that, it’s safe to say that the original patches of the game were loved by players all over.
Although the game has grown to a whole new level with features like pop-culture collaborations for skins and events, the game takes things up a notch by introducing in-game concerts. While the new features keep the players engaged, some players miss the original map that was eaten up by a black hole in-universe. With that said, Epic has announced that the game is to touch upon its roots in the latest update.

Epic is not just copying the original map but blending the old map with new gameplay features that were not present in the past. This offers veterans familiarity with classic POIs while enjoying enhancements. Players can expect the return of classic skins, gliders, pickaxes, and other OG cosmetics, enhancing the retro Fortnite feel. Epic may temporarily revert some weapons and items to their original stats, providing players with a taste of the past. There might be changes to lobby backgrounds and graphics. Even the user interface might change to give it an old-school look and feel.
Players looking forward to playing the old map can expect the update to drop on November 3, 2023. The new season will expect to launch after the standard downtime maintenance, typically around 2-5 AM Eastern Time.
