The Fortnite Champions Series commonly known as the FNCS is an integral part of every season. It aims to identify the best players across the world and pit them against each other. The tournament also helps avid Fortnite players to earn additional fame and prize money.
In a recent blog post, Epic Games revealed the format of the upcoming FNCS. This season the tournament will be in the trios game mode. Furthermore, Epic Games has reverted to the ‘open round format’. Here, there will be three weeks of qualifying games with four rounds occurring each week. As a result, all players will have a fair shot at qualifying.
How to qualify for the upcoming Fortnite Champions Series

At the end of round 4, the top three trios will advance to the finals of the tournament. In addition to this, the top 99 duos in terms of series points will advance to the semi-finals. At the semi-final stage, the 99 qualifying teams will take part in three heats. Here, each heat will consist of six matches. The top six will advance to the finals while those who place between 7th and 17th will be placed in the Reboot round.

The Reboot round will consist of 33 teams playing three matches. In order to qualify for the finals, a team must earn a victory royale in the reboot round. As the team earns a victory, they are removed from the qualifying pool. Lastly, the FNCS finals will be played over 12 games split up into two days of six games each. At the end of the finals, the team with the most series points will be crowned the victor.
FNCS Chapter 2 Season 6 kicks off in the Middle East from April 22-24. All other regions will begin the first week of qualifiers from April 23-25. It will culminate by the end of May and we will have crowned a new FNCS champion. This season, Epic Games has kept a $3 million prize pool across the 8 regions.
