In a recent podcast with Lewis Howes, Poki was seen sharing how these moments affected her mental state in the past and how she could recoup and continue her prosperous journey.

Pokimane talks about the troubled community reactions that affected her

Imane Anys, popularly known as Pokimane, is one of the most-watched streamers in the biz. She has a huge online presence and a vast fan following. But as a byproduct of popularity came the toxicity. Some people have taken it upon themselves to cause a ruckus to the adored streamer quite a lot of times. Poki recently was seen remembering her past troubles with regard to negative community interactions, and ways through which one can overcome it.

Pokimane began by talking about how other content creators themselves can cause problematic situations. She feels some creators try to profit through farming views, and that is something that she fell prey to in the past. She talked about hate campaigns that came her way through which the aforementioned streamers farmed views.

Pokimane expressed that in the past, the situation of ‘hate’ towards her was immense compared to her male counterparts. She was subjected to various toxic situations that made things difficult for her. Even in her recent stream, Poki was talking about how she got targeted by some viewers in the OfflineTV community.

But now, she feels that the ‘hate’ has reduced over the years, thanks to the growing support that she receives from the netizens.

Poki’s advice to aspiring content creators who face similar toxic dilemmas

Imane had an interesting take on how people can face such criticisms and social anxiety. “For starters, just accepting that statistically there is going to be a percentage of people that don’t like you. That’s okay, that is life. Do you like everybody who you met? No,” stated Poki. According to the 27-year-old, some level of criticism and distaste is inevitable. We can either ponder upon that or just brush past it, giving no heed to the toxicity.

Imane thinks that taking advice from people that we look up to is another key factor in overcoming such situations. Lastly, she states that if something is tied outside your control, like your appearance, gender, and race, it is best to find validation and assurance from like-minded people.
