Australian, California-based YouTuber Alanah Pearce, more commonly known as Charalanahzard, has recently won the ‘YouTuber of the Year’ award. She took to Twitter to announce her victory. The YouTuber expressed her gratitude towards the community, and she was visibly elated. She also said that she felt the YouTube community was very supportive of her.

Charalanahzard’s life before YouTube career

Before getting on YouTube, Charalanahzard had an eventful career within the gaming industry itself. Her first taste of being in the industry on a large scale was as a gaming journalist for the popular video game news website, IGN. She worked there from 2015 to 2018 before she left the organization.

She went on to join Roosterteeth. Roosterteeth is a consortium of content creators who band together to put out content. Under Roosterteeth, she worked in Funhaus. It was one of the many YouTube channels that worked under Roosterteeth. In October 2020, she departed from that organization as well.

Apart from content creation, the Australian YouTuber has dabbled in the field of game development as well. She joined Sony’s Santa Monica Studio in the capacity of a video game writer. Before joining the studio, she has consulted for games for the studio as well. She has also done substantial work for the hit, God of War Ragnarok.

She also has experience in voice acting. She lent her voice to Gears 5 and Afterparty. Cyberpunk 2077 also has a character voiced by her as well as inspired by her. She was nominated for ‘Content Creator of the Year’ in 2020. However, she did not win.

It seems like this year’s awards worked in her favor as she won the prestigious YouTuber of the Year award.

Fans took to Twitter to congratulate her for this feat and thank her for her contribution to the video game industry as a whole.
