Halloween is just around the corner and the party has already started with the spooky Five Nights at Freddy’s. The iconic survival-horror video game series has returned, this time to the big screens. While the feature film is enjoying the community limelight, the makers have also teased a promising follow-up to the video game adaptation.

The gaming world is no stranger to video game adaptations successfully making it to the big screens. Over the last few years, a lot of video game adaptations have received overwhelming reception from the admirers of good cinema. The Super Mario Bros. Movie and The Last of Us TV series are some of the most significant examples from the list. However, with the release of Five Nights at Freddy’s fans have a new chapter to look forward to.

Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel to follow the story of the video game series?

Following FNAF’s reception, it is safe to assume there will be a sequel. And fortunately, the makers are already a step ahead as the buzz around a possible sequel has already surfaced on the web. Moreover, some striking statements made by Emma Tammi have only fueled the theories. 

Emma Tammi, the director and co-writer of Five Nights at Freddy’s cinematic adaptation, has talked about the high possibility of the sequel. “We’ll see how things go this weekend. We’re definitely excited to keep making more movies in this world, should we be lucky enough to do that,” she stated while talking about the sequel. This was in response to a question about Matthew Lillard already having signed a 3 film contract.

Adding to the expected storyline, she expressed how the source of inspiration for FNAF has been the video game franchise. So, if the sequel goes as planned, the movie series will carry on to the story of the game series. This one was tied into the first game, and we would probably focus on tying the second one into the second game, and so on and so forth. But anything could happen. We’ll have to see,” she added.

The grand reception of FNAF! 

The opening for FNAF recorded an overwhelming collection of $39.5 million domestically. The numbers are huge. Moreover, it is even more impressive when considering the fact that it was also made available for streaming the day it released. It was made available on peacock. In fact, it is also being tipped to be the sixth biggest October debut, should it beat Black Adam’s $67 million.

Considering Halloween Fest will peak in the coming few days, the projections are only supposed to jump higher. So, it won’t be surprising if FNAF makes it to the highest-grossing features of the year by the end of the peak.
