Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has brought some major changes in the latest patch. But how much does the latest patch update appeal to the veteran CoD fans? It seems like the developers have finally adhered to the ongoing fan demands as the controversial armory unlock system is being subjected to a major change.
Ever since the beta run, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been under strong community scrutiny. The latest installment of the FPS classic has been subjected to a lot of criticism around all its modes. However, one major highlight has been the discussion around a new armory unlock system the developers introduced in MW3. Unlike what the makers would have hoped, players didn’t take well to the armory system. Now, things are changing and fans have started believing in the title’s early redemption.

You weren’t the only one who was rooting for a change in the newly introduced armory system in CoD. In fact, you were part of a campaign that rooted for the upgrade. According to the new patch, Armory Unlocks will implement two new formulas. “Wins will now progress Armory Unlocks without first completing Daily Challenges. Look for UI modifications in a future game update to better reflect this change”, the official blog states.

For context, level 25 unlocked the Armory Unlock feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. As players advanced through the trials, they discovered that many weapons, technology, and field improvements were kept behind closed doors. Players have to first complete daily challenges in order to unlock each one. For example, completing the three daily tasks and turning on the challenge log. What was the problem? The Daily Assignments were over. Players had to wait for more during the subsequent rotation after finishing.
The new patch notes is a huge win for the FPS community. Although MW3 didn’t exactly live up to expectations at first, it looks like they’re listening to what players want.
Fans are already invested in the future of the CoD patch updates
“At Launch, we introduced a delay after sliding to the Tac Sprint refresh time. A review prompted by Player feedback determined that the previous delay was too aggressive. Today’s updates aim to improve movement fluidity without making slide and Tac Sprint repetition the only viable choice for Players,” the statement reads on the patch release. Evidently, the developers are not taking the social media trend for granted. So, the FPS fanatics resonated well with the latest changes, expressing their happiness with the patch.
A user hailed praise for the patch notes, calling it “an actual W” for the game.
A fan believes it was about time the developers brought this change. However, they don’t want the community to let off steam from Sledgehammer. “While this is a good change, I’m not gonna jump on the “Sledgehammer’s the GOAT for listening” train because of this (not saying you are). Armory unlocks are an awful system and a change that was never needed. Its sole purpose is to pump up player engagement numbers, nothing more. They offer no benefit to anyone playing so there’s no need for them,” they wrote.

“Absolutely key. Was literally saying this 3 days ago,” the satisfaction is evident.
The developers get a stamp of approval from a fan as their comment reads, “Sledgehammer is so cool because they listen to feedback!”
