Paul Tassi, renowned writer of gaming and television for Forbes, has fueled the ongoing debate around Fortnite’s OG Season’s duration. The short season has been the only bug in a rather ideal ‘glory’ fest. The creator took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and expressed the same. “insane to me to launch the OG mode with these numbers and then just turn it off a month later. maybe they’ll change their minds based on all this,” Tassi wrote.

The tweet was a reaction to the celebratory post-Fortnite had made on the account of achieving historic numbers. For context, the developers claimed November 4 marked the ‘biggest day for Fortnite’ as it recorded 44.7 million players and over 102 million hours of gameplay. These figures, being the highest ever in the history of over six years of Epic Games’ classic, speak a lot about the hype built around the latest Chapter.
Undoubtedly, the nostalgic element has worked wonders for the developers and has given every gaming fanatic all the reasons to reunite with the world of Fortnite. Thus, a lot of fans feel taking away such a big attraction factor would be criminal to the game.
Fans nod in agreement with the writer
Paul Tassi’s tweet was enough to invite a cluster of fans to express their opinions about the next schedule of the tactical shooter. Most fans couldn’t agree more with the words of the eSports writer.
A user believes the statistics are a reason enough to motivate the developers to rethink their schedule, calling the current plan “insane.”
What’s more insane is that this game came out 6 years ago and just had its peak player count. Talk about staying power

While the OG season has yielded record numbers for Fortnite, there’s no telling if it’s because of the seasonal factor, or if it can work on a more permanent basis. So a user has suggested the OG season needs to be experienced at least once every year.
Maybe do it once a year

Something planned for the next season? An intriguing theory is sparked by a player who believes the OG season is just the beginning of things to come.
They want all attention on Fortnite because they have something big planned for next season. That’s my theory at least.

On the contrary, a player feels the duration of the chapter is completely justified. Maybe a prolonged season won’t be able to keep the numbers going?
It’s not gonna start that hype for long. 1 month is perfect.
