Timed exclusivity is a thing, and it’s somewhat disappointing for many. Imagine a game that is exclusive to a system, but only for a very limited period of time. This is what’s happening to a bunch of console exclusives nowadays, some PlayStation 5 exclusives make their way to PC, and some Xbox console exclusives reach PlayStation.

Previously, a leak suggested that the comedy-action game High on Life was making its way to PlayStation consoles. Now, yet another game is rumored to be doing something similar.

High on Life was released as an Xbox console exclusive, available for Game Pass users on day 1. Recently, it was revealed that it was making its way to PlayStation consoles. Fans could not even take a breather before yet another leak suggested one more game was making its way to Sony’s consoles.

Somerville is yet another Xbox exclusive; this one too was released to Game Pass users free of charge. It is developed by a studio called Jumpship, which was founded by Dino Patti, the co-founder of Playdead.

What is Sommerville?

Playdead is known for making grim games with very dark stories. They have created games like Limbo and Inside, and Somerville too has a similar feel to it. The game is a side-scrolling sci-fi adventure featuring a man and his family. Players control the man as he guides his family through a world that is being taken over by aliens.

The gameplay consists of elements similar to those in Limbo and Inside. Players are introduced to a puzzle that they have to solve to get to the next area. Sometimes they have to engage in a thrilling chase sequence.

It looks like the release date would be somewhere around November, as usually, this exclusivity lasts at least a year. We might end up being wrong here, it might even be sooner, but that confirmation can only come from the developers.
