The world of video game Movie/TV adaptations has a very bad reputation. Ever since gaming’s boom in popularity, Hollywood studios have made many attempts to adapt a beloved gaming IP to the big screens. But most often, these productions are very bland and unable to satisfy the fans or casual moviegoers. Saturated with cliche stories that have little to no connection to the source material and low critic opinions almost all around the board, the gaming movie adaptations were almost believed to be “cursed” by many.
But recent adaptation works have shown some great promise to the loyal fans. Especially the television adaptation of popular online MOBA, League of Legends and single-player masterclass The Last of Us, and Cyberpunk 2077. These shows have opened up a brand horizon where fans are actually hoping to witness something amazing in video game adaptations.
