Call of Duty: Vanguard finally receives ‘Ranked Play’

This comes as a welcome surprise after the recent Treyarch debacle. For the uninitiated, Treyarch Studios recently delayed the launch of Vanguard’s ranked multiplayer beta a mere 12 hours before its launch. Reportedly, the developer had discovered a stat-breaking issue in the game’s live testing phase. Causing the aforementioned delay which the studio announced in a Twitter post.

Although surprised, the community stood by Treyarch’s decision and lauded their transparency on the matter. That said, players didn’t have to wait long for the stunning reveal that they can now jump in and climb their way up the Ranked leaderboards. This couldn’t have come at a better time, as fans are hyped following the commencement of CDL 2022.

According to an official Activision announcement:

“Vanguard will offer a bespoke Multiplayer Ranked Play mode (launching in Beta at the start of Season Two) featuring league-approved rules, visible Skill Ratings, and new competitive rewards among other innovations from Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games.”

Ranked Play offers many exciting rewards to those that dare climb up the rankings. Significantly, players who reach the two highest divisions in Vanguard’s ranked game mode will earn exclusive rewards usable in both Vanguard and Warzone. However, to achieve that, players would first need to access the ranked game mode.

And according to reactions on Twitter, many fans are having trouble with that task.

It seems Call of Duty: Vanguard still has ways to go before Ranked Play can become accessible to a wide section of the playerbase. Significantly, some players are put off by the offering as they would rather see the developers focus on the plethora of bugs and glitches that still plague the game.
