Call of Duty Modern Warfare II launched in November. It currently holds the record of being the most successful Call of Duty game in the series. Fans everywhere welcomed this game with open arms, and there were a few reasons for it. The biggest one was that in years this was the first Call of Duty game to release on Steam.

Other reasons were it is a solid single-player experience, and its life-like visuals, are so lifelike that fans were comparing its in-game locations to real-life locations.
Modern Warfare II keeps evolving as a live service title
Single-player is not the thing that fans buy Call of Duty games solely for. Multiplayer mode is also something they are avid lovers of. A robust game mode where numerous players can compete with each other for scores in various types of game modes.
Infinity Ward worked its best to make Modern Warfare II a polished experience for its fans and even though there were a few hiccups, it still delivered. It was at one point the most-played game on Steam. At its most basic, Call of Duty multiplayer gives its fans hours and hours of enjoyment.
But Activision and Infinity Ward had a lot of plans for this game. They started releasing new updates for it, adding new maps, character skins, weapons, and weapon skins.
With updates like these comes a kind of craziness like no other. Developers release skins for characters that are pretty out there, just to make the game more fun for players. And that is what Infinity Ward is doing.
And they recently released a skin that makes players look like a Mummy. And that really grinds some gears.
Fans have mixed reactions to the newly released skins
These new skins have gained different reactions from fans. Some are loving the new content while others see this as a way to eliminate the realism of Modern Warfare II.

Aside from all this, there’s news that next year Activision would break the tradition of yearly Call of Duty installments. There would be new content, but it would come in the form of standalone DLC for Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. And that game would be developed by Sledgehammer games.

Sledgehammer games’ last full game was Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Other than that, they only act as a support studio for the likes of Infinity wart and Treyarch.
