Forspoken is the latest addition to the action role-playing game genre by Square Enix’s Luminous Productions, which is well-known for creating games of this genre. After all, this studio was also responsible for the development of Final Fantasy XV, which was released in 2016.

Fans have mixed feelings about this new action RPG. However, one thing that no one can deny is its enormous size. But this is to be expected from games of this kind, which feature everything from stunning visuals to mind-blowing mechanics.

One of the game’s main mechanics is related to the combat system. In this game, the player fights using magical spells. The main character Frey can use four different types of magic, which are represented by four different colors: Red, Purple, Blue, and Green. Let’s figure out how to get all of these magical abilities in the game.

How to unlock all Magic Spells in Forspoken?

Freya would have access to the Purple magic tree from the start of the game. This is the main magic of the protagonist, and it is related to Earth-based elemental spells. However, this does not restrict Frey from learning other elemental magic. But first, she must defeat the Tantas, Athia’s corrupted matriarchs, in order to unlock those magical trees.

By defeating Tanta Prav, the main protagonist can gain access to the Blue magic tree. This elemental magic tree contains all Water-based magic. Frey would be able to glide on water instead of swimming in Athia’s waters after unlocking this ability. Further, Frey would be able to cast dangerous spells such as Naedre, which sends a snaking column of water behind an enemy.

This game also includes Wind-based elemental magic, but Frey would need to unlock the Green magic tree in order to do so. The protagonist must defeat Tanta Olas, another corrupted matriarch of Athia, which will give access to Wind-based magic spells. Unlocking wind magic would also grant Frey access to projectile dart-like attacks.

The most popular magic element in this game is Fire, which is represented by Red. To unlock the Red magic tree, the players must face Tanta Sila, who is possibly the game’s strongest antagonist. Players would gain access to a pool of Fire-based melee attack spells from the Red magic, one of which would be the ability to create a weaponized fire sword.

Unlock spells with Mana

Players can easily unlock different spells by using Mana after getting access to a magic tree in the game. For those who are unfamiliar with the term “Mana,” it is the primary resource in this game that players can acquire by defeating enemies or completing challenges.

The collected Mana can then be used to unlock new spells and even upgrade older ones to make them stronger. If you’re wondering how to unlock or upgrade spells with Mana, look no further. They can simply visit the “Magic” menu in Forspoken to unlock or upgrade Magic spells.

Find Founts of Blessing for some useful spells

There are some unique and extremely useful spells, such as Float, Leap, and Soar. However, players will not be able to obtain these spells by defeating the Tantas or spending Mana. To unlock them, Frey would need to find the Founts of Blessings. These Founts can be found in a small pool, which can be easily identified due to the bright light emitted by the pool.

As previously stated, players can spend Mana to unlock new spells from the “Magic” menu. As a result, there is a chance that a player will dislike a spell and regret spending Mana on it. So the developers addressed that issue as well with an intriguing mechanic. Frey can simply go to the “Magic” menu to undo an unlocked spell and recover the mana spent on learning it.
