Final Fantasy fans may not like this news, but it’s officially been announced by Square Enix that Final Fantasy XVI is still far away from its release. Sharing the latest information on the awaited installment from the producer of the upcoming title, the publisher posted a tweet. It mentioned that a new reveal on Final Fantasy XVI will arrive in Spring 2022, not before that. This implies that excited game lovers will have to wait slightly longer than usual.
Final Fantasy XVI is witnessing a lot of delay because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and its impact. And the latest message from its producer, Naoki Yoshida, mentions the same situation once again. In Square Enix’s recent tweet, he revealed that the team is having some difficulty in finishing up the game, in terms of quality, assets, and resources.

Final Fantasy XVI details so far and releases date possibilities
For those who don’t know, the initial announcement of Final Fantasy XVI was made over three years ago. However, that time, the game featured a demo concept prototype from a different team under Square Enix. That trailer gained a lot of positive reactions from the fans who thought they would get it in the final version as well. The prototype showed a female protagonist, instead of the current male counterpart, Clive, who was later revealed by Square Enix in 2020.
