Hironobu Sakaguchi, a renowned name associated with the genius of Final Fantasy, has made a striking confession in the ongoing Fan Fest. In order to customize it, he added a keyboard and eliminated every button he wasn’t using—aside from a handful that he uses for three instructions. Sakaguchi took great pride in the controller he had built. Also, to avoid accidentally pressing any keys, he stated he took off the keys and only kept the ones he needed.

For those unaware, Sakaguchi using an Xbox controller for playing the sixteenth edition of the game is special because it is only accessible to PlayStation and Microsoft Windows. Thus, the Xbox controller for making commands in the RPG world sounds like an ideal crossover that the creator has implemented way before the developers could plan to!

Naoki Yoshida, the director and producer of Final Fantasy 14, also acknowledged the crazy customization idea of the creator, as he called him “too hardcore” as a fan. Both of the developers further expressed the attributes that make this franchise so grand and special as an experience.

“Take that Risk”: Advice that makes the difference
During the celebrations of the Final Fantasy 14 fan fest, fans were lucky enough to catch some candid insights from the team that created the magic. “I felt this when I saw Final Fantasy 16 and this comes from the perspective of someone who creates these different works. I think with Final Fantasy you always want to take a challenge to take an adventure into building a new system for the new installment, that courage to be able to take that risk,” Sakaguchi stated, expressing his thoughts.
Adding to this, Yoshida assured a promising upcoming schedule for the fans. “We are going to continue to keep that challenge in mind and try to deliver the best content we can,” he said.
