He believes the upgrades in the PS5 are what’s making Final Fantasy 16 truly immersive. Further, he believes transitions between gameplay and cut-scenes, and the intricate detailing of characters and settings, are all possible thanks to the technology of the PlayStation 5.
In a PlayStation blog post, when asked about his first impression of the power and technology of the PS5, he said, “the PS5 is different—it comes with enough memory installed to take full advantage of the hardware.” He went on to add, “I was simply blown away by how fast it was.”

The director goes on to talk about the immersion of lifting heavy gates and the thrill of riding chocobos, made real through adaptive triggers and haptic feedback of the DualSense controller.
Kohei Ikeda’s take on the PlayStation 5
In a recent interview for the PlayStation Blog, Kohei Ikeda highlighted, “The PS5’s processing performance made these implementations possible”. It is to be noted another director of a AAA title praised the console’s larger memory size, making it an important upgrade.
