BattleBit Remastered is an indie game, allegedly developed by only three people and has a $15 tag on Steam.

BattleBit was released two weeks ago and the devs claim to have already sold close to two million copies. It is now sitting atop a lot of notable names in the industry in terms of sales, including Starfield. In a time when shelling out more money for season passes and updates has become the norm, SgtOkiDoki ditched trends to create a successful game at virtually super low costs.

The low poly Battlefield-like game lets 254 players get in on a single game and promises a super fun time. The game has sold a solid 180,000 units already and may even chase down Street Fighter 6 to the very end.

BattleBit Remastered breathing on Street Fighter 6’s neck

BattleBit was announced in 2016 and the design process was changed in accordance with the community’s perception during the next seven years. The game’s intense mechanics and strong gameplay, despite its Roblox-like visuals, led it to 800,000 wishlists on Steam before release – quite a feat for an indie game made by three modders. The game currently has 80,000 concurrent players on a daily basis, almost the same as the latest Street Fighter title.

While the game’s success has attracted a lot of cheaters, the developers are committed to rid of nuisance from the servers to ensure a good experience for the real players. The developers are scurrying to hire new hands to safeguard the in-game experience from cheaters and continuously regularly add new content. Popular streamer Jake Lucky also took to social media to express his astonishment at how a game like this can achieve so much within so little time.
