Not so long ago, the world witnessed the brilliance that was the Last of Us television series. Produced by HBO and co-written by the original creator, Neil Druckmann, the first season of TLOU was a phenomenal success. Hoping to cash in on the success, Naughty Dog decided to re-release their magnum opus.

However, things didn’t go as planned. While the re-release received a lot of love initially, as the downloads started ramping up, players started to witness a lot of issues with the game. Especially the PC players. With frequent frame drops, highly demanding specs, and many more issues, the re-release is witnessing a downward trend.

Every single day, the sales are plummeting. Witnessing this negative reception, Naughty Dog Twitter decided to approach the community and ask them if there are any major issues happening with the port. And soon the comments section flooded with customer issues and grievances, making it clear why the new game is not working commercially.

“VRAM usage too high for no reason!!! M struggling to play it on PC right now. Was so excited when I purchased the deluxe edition a day before on Steam. Right now……hoping the devs release a new update. I am yet to even start the story due to the ongoing issue,” said online eSports journalist Mintu Tomar on Twitter.

Other customers also shared their thoughts and opinions. The Steam page was also spammed with negative reviews. Some called it “this disgusting excuse of a port”. With all the delays and almost a decade-long wait, it was only inevitable for the fans to have high expectations of the game, but unfortunately, the product was nowhere near it.

However, there had been some fans who tried to defend the game. Their main defense is that allegedly it runs very well on PlayStation 5, and the performance issues on the PC port maybe have occurred from outdated hardware or simply because of systems that don’t have adequate power to run the port smoothly.

So far there haven’t been any updates about the release of a patch or update, fixing the issues, however, the fans are hopeful that seeing the problems and the reaction from the community may motivate the devs to release an update in the PC version.
