In the gaming community, sometimes gamers target each other on the basis of false accusations. These accusations may range from calling a player a cheat to pointing out someone’s skill. That’s what the Faze Clan co-owner, Nickmercs, did to the Call of Duty Pro, Joe De Lucas.

Was the calling out serious? Or just a sarcastic take on mistaken identity.
Fans react to Nickmercs call out
After the accusation was brought to light by a Call of Duty insider, fans started to react to it. Although the matter of fact is, the player who Nickmercs called out was actually Call of Duty Pro Joe De Lucas aka MerkJD. This sparked a debate of controversies between COD fans.
Can’t believe @NICKMERCS caught @JoeDeLuca cheating in Warzone live on his stream 😱 pic.twitter.com/qsopC3glOH

For those who are unaware, Nickmercs was rushing through the Plentiful Feilds area in Warzone. In the same region, MerkJD was looting when they both had a face-off. Notably, Nickmercs ran and hid behind a bush as MerkJD followed him. But surprisingly MerkJD found accurately where Nickmercs was hiding and threw a grenade eliminating him. To which Nickmercs called out MerkJD by saying that he was “walling”.
Nick wasn’t moving, so bush wouldn’t have made any noise. Defo walling. Streamers need to start showing their screens and set ups to prove they’re not hacking.

sickening that streamers can get away with this now. clearly cheating and using magnetic aimbot for grenades. he has been cheating since console days. hes apart of the secret cheating streamer society, gross

On one side, fans suspected MerkJD of employing hacks while playing, but on the other, they defended him due to his expertise. This incident was further promoted by the COD insider after they posted it on Twitter by saying, “Can’t believe @NICKMERCS caught @JoeDeLuca cheating in Warzone live on his stream.”
@ModernWarzone then they say that only bot players accuse everyone of being cheaters, the big streamers are one of the main responsible for making believe that everyone is a cheater.

Later, the post was defended by saying that it was meant as sarcasm. However, fans got even angrier because of the careless move.
The number of people taking this tweet seriously is alarming.

Maybe because people follow you as a reputable news source for Call of Duty and not for satire. Perhaps you should consider being more clear about what you put out there?

As the Twitter handle was meant for giving serious news and not to do sarcastic jokes on such sensitive issues.
Call of Duty professional or just a simple aim-bot?
It is true that Call of Duty is heavily affected by many cheaters and hackers. The whole gaming industry is getting frustrated by these cheap tricks and unruly gamers. So implementing an extra layer of anti-cheats is very necessary to promote good sportsmanship among gamers.
The real reason fans suspected MerkJD of cheating was his aim-bot movement. To be more specific, while using a mouse, the aim-bot is made ineffective because a player’s entire hand is responsible for targeting and shooting.

Using a console, on the other hand, assists with smooth targeting by tracking the opponent’s movement, resulting in a significantly more precise shooting experience.

Ive found people that way before. Dude was hiding in a bush and my Aim assist pulled just enough for me to notice and shoot

Whether or not it is a responsible action, one thing is certain: players must recognize that not everyone who eliminates them is a hacker. So sometimes we just don’t know if the opponent is a stronger player or not.
