The yet-to-launch open world fantasy RPG might be the very first FromSoftware game to have a proper, in-built anti-cheat system on PC. To be precise, Elden Ring will have an EasyAntiCheat system.

This information comes from the official End User License Agreement (EULA) that Bandai Namco recently published for Elden Ring. However, if anyone has to find out about the anti-cheat system, one has to skim through the entire agreement.

While scrolling till the very end, you get to see one specific paragraph that talks about “Third Party Software.” At the very beginning of it, Bandai Namco mentions that it is using EasyAntiCheat (EAC) in Elden Ring. And it will be operated by a third-party service provider.

Here’s an excerpt from the agreement:

“EAC has a client software that is integrated into the Game. When you start the Game, the EAC client software will automatically load and install its latest version to the Hardware. EAC will monitor the Hardware, analyze the Game binaries and scan Hardware memory for the purpose of detecting and preventing cheating in the Game.”

Additionally, the EasyAntiCheat system will store some of the users’ information. It will be for the purpose of knowing if someone is using any cheating methods in the game.

That’s good news, especially for the fans of the upcoming title who are excited to start playing it soon. Also, because the previous FromSoftware title like Dark Souls involved multiple instances of players using hacks online.

That’s the main reason why the developing team, this time, decided to install anti-cheat system in Elden Ring. Hence, fans won’t have to witness any unfair scenarios while playing it online on their PCs. The title comes out worldwide on February 25, 2022.
