Remember Rockstar Vacouver’s Bully from 2006? Turns out the fans do. Rockstar Games is known for some of the most popular video game franchises; GTA and Red Dead Redemption. And while games like GTA and Red Dead Redemption got sequels after their success, Bully has been left out. Bully, which introduced new mechanics and offered reminiscent gameplay of rule-breaking, is one of the most significant games of its time. But despite its success, the developers never gave its fans new content.

Bully has received many ports for the game over the years. Players can now play the game on platforms like Android, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, iOS, and Wii. Rockstar Games knows the significance of the game and decided to keep it alive, but still hasn’t mentioned anything about a sequel. This news has not been sitting right with fans who want to go back to their school days at Bullworth Academy. Players have started to hope for a sequel and some have even started a petition to convince Rockstar to turn the game into a series.

One player didn’t like the fact that there is no news about a sequel for Bully and took matters into their own hands. Recently, a post was uploaded to the fan fiction subreddit page called r/bully2. And in the post, the user spoke about how they would like to see a second part of the game.

In the post, the user stated, “I created a petition for Rockstar Games to continue development on Bully II. I wanna take action, because even if it may not work.”

It is already known that an ex-Rockstar Games employee had once leaked information regarding the existence of Bully 2. The recent leak comes from a former Rockstar Games employee who mentioned on their LinkedIn profile that they worked on Bully 2 in 2008, approximately two years after the release of the first game. So this isn’t the first time Bull 2 has been talked about.

Despite numerous hints and leaks, it remains unclear whether Bully 2 will ever see the light of day. The game has seemingly been in development multiple times, but to no avail.

The leak serves as further evidence that Bully 2 was a project that came close to realization but has remained at best, a tantalizing prospect for fans. It suggests that fans will have to continue waiting for an official announcement or release.

Bully 2 to remain wishful thinking for now

Many redditors came forward in response to the petition post. And the comments didn’t give the impression that users believe this can actually happen.

One user pointed out the fact that Rockstar Games is still working on GTA6 and that Bully 2 will take 7-8 years just for preproduction. Since fans still haven’t gotten an official look at GTA6 yet and are still waiting for the game 10 years after its predecessor, it’s easy to see why the user thinks that the studio will take a lot of time if Bull 2 is to happen.

Another user mentioned how expecting something that might never happen is bad for one’s mental health.

Among all comments, there was one who signed. The user believes the studio would be wise to work on Bully 2, as well as a sequel to Team Bondi’s 2011 L.A. Noire.

While it’s not bad to be hopeful, curbing expectations is what keeps people going. Although it seems highly unlikely that Bully will come out with a sequel almost 2 decades after its launch, we will never know what Rockstar has planned. With the way things are, it looks like this petition might not fulfill the needs of the user. At the time of writing, the petition has 127 signatures. Should the numbers grow, will Rockstar Games take notice?
