It seems like the gaming community is yet again split over this recent deal. However, there is no denying that this move can set a precedent for the gaming industry. For example, Call of Duty is such a successful and huge franchise that even the most casual player will be familiar with its impact on the video game industry and its impact on the day-to-day culture as well. Questions have arisen about what this acquisition bodes for the franchise, Some are of the belief that Call of Duty will now be a Microsoft exclusive.

On the other hand, fans are refuting this argument claiming that considering the vast player base Call of Duty has, it being an exclusive for Microsoft will lead to the game incurring losses. Adding on, fans who are awaiting this year’s iteration of the shooter need not worry whether or not the game will be playable on PlayStation. It is expected that this deal is supposed to wrap up all the way in 2023. This means that Call of Duty Modern Warfare II will be having a regular release.
