Fans went crazy as Sony’s newly launched massive single-player exclusive God of War: Ragnarok announced a brand new themed controller. The PlayStation controller is uniquely designed. It features motifs and illustrations inspired by the game and a color scheme that encapsulates the feel of the Nordic Winter.

God of War Ragnarok is the latest installment in the phenomenally popular and adored single-player gaming series God of War. The series is a PlayStation exclusive. It is developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released worldwide on 9 November 2022.

Currently, it has a perfect score of 10/10 by IGN, an overly positive score of 94% on Metacritic, and an almost perfect score of 9.9 on IMDb. The game was actually successful at standing up to the expectations and the hype. 

The hype and anticipation reached brand new heights when Sony PlayStation announced a controller themed after the Ghost of Sparta and his son. The controller gives off the vibes of Nordic rage and the frozen chaos of Fimbulwinter on its brilliant design. 

Sony announces a brand new controller to celebrate the God of War Ragnarok release

On November 9, 2022, the official Twitter account of PlayStation announced their brand new controller theme. This new release was part of the promotional campaign for the newly released God of War Ragnarok. The DualSense wireless controller is available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 at just $64.99.

The official site of the DualShock said the controller’s design is “inspired by the Norse world of Midgard with its unique two-tone design of cool blue on icy white, embellished with bear and wolf insignia – representing Kratos and Atreus.” To give the complete immersion in the Nordic epic that is about to unfold in the game. 

How did fans react to the controller?

Fans were over the moon when the drop was announced. Everyone gushed over the controller’s design and the amount of thought and effort put into the insignias. The beautiful color scheme of Blue and white was perfect for giving the cold vibes of the game. Many fans posted pictures of their special edition covers and artworks.
