The Call of Duty franchise is one of the bestselling franchises for the Xbox system. But maybe someone in the design department had a tough time understanding this fact. As the latest installment in Activision’s world-famous action FPS series is making the rounds on the internet, for calling out their biggest competitor.

A printing error calls out PlayStation on the MW2 physical copies

In Canada, consumer products must display text in both English and French. So the hard copies for the Xbox version of the new Call of Duty MW2 had text in both languages. The English part was nothing special, as it had the standard content like any other packaging, but the French text was interesting, to say the least.

Activision boldly claims to be the “best-selling franchise” on the physical copies of the MW2 games. But the next part of the text depends on the format of the copy. If the copy is for the Xbox, then it will have “best-selling franchise on Xbox” and vice versa for the PlayStation.

However, in Canada, Activision has made a blunder in translating this text into French for the packaging, causing a massive blunder. The English text read as correctly as it claimed to be the best-selling franchise on Xbox but the French read as “the best-selling franchise on PlayStation” (Translated).

The Internet exploded as the picture of the blunder circulates around. Reddit user u/wheresmyfuckinjuul posted a shot of the text on the r/XboxSeriesX subreddit. The comments section of the post was hilarious to read.
