Call of Duty is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the gaming industry. The multiplayer FPS have a massive following and reputation in the community. Its next big Installment Modern Warfare 2 was already been hyped up.
But when a well-known actor from the Worldwide hit movie franchise, Harry Potter announced he will be joining as one of the most beloved characters in-game, the hype reached insane heights.

Even though the character only appeared in a few instances, he is one of the most beloved and popular in the series. Simon Riley or as known by most as Ghost has become the face of Modern Warfare 2. So it was obvious that the team had to reserve their best cast choices for their most iconic character.
Harry Potter actor will be playing Ghost in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
In the original MW2 in 2009, the character was played by Craig Fairbrass, but he was replaced by Jeff Leach in the 2019 reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. But when Jeff made a controversial comment, Activision cold-banned the actor and moved on. After this, there was no clarity on who was going to be wearing the boots of the iconic ghost.
Then on May 24, 2022, actor Samuel Roukin made it public that he will be playing the character of a ghost in the new Modern Warfare. Samuel is an actor and DJ who is known for his roles on television shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Turn Washington’s Spies, and movies like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – part 1.
On Twitter, Samuel wrote, “A year ago I began a project I couldn’t talk about. I am beyond excited to announce I’m playing the iconic, Ghost, in #CallofDuty #ModernWarfare2.” He showed his gratitude toward Activision by adding, “So grateful to @infinityward and @activision for putting their trust in me. Just wait ’til you play this game. It’s special.”
How did fans react to this announcement?
Fans were ecstatic seeing such an accomplished actor playing their favorite character. They rushed to comments expressing how much happy they are seeing this announcement. They thanked Activision for such a surprise and gave their praise to Samuel, hoping he will be able to stand up to the expectations.
