The first season budget of the survival drama is more than each of the first five seasons of Game of Thrones. It seems that HBO has immense trust in its new franchise. They are ticking all the boxes to make the series aesthetic and appealing to the audience.

But many others believe that a big budget won’t just suffice. They need to nail the storyline. Quality is what matters and if there is a big budget and the product is of poor quality, then it would just be a disappointment.
A high budget is no guarantee of quality when the creative staff are lacking in it, as I'm sure a lot of people are going to discover next year if they haven't already after the disastrous last few years of television and film.

Also, ever since the cast was revealed, many were not really happy about it. As soon as the news about the high budget came, these unhappy fans took a dig at the casting of the series.
I'm going to be very interested in seeing how this Joel and Ellie work on screen. I'm not sold on either actor yet, so I'm very interested in seeing it.

The series is slated to release on HBO MAX on January 15, 2023. Countries that do not the streaming platform would have to wait a bit longer to watch the series.
