Fans Divided Over Leaks Suggesting a ‘Mafia 2’ Remake Could Arrive Soon

Developed by 2K Czech, Mafia is a typical action-crime game. So far, three installments of the game have been released with each of them receiving a remastered version under the Mafia: Trilogy project. Now, rumors have surfaced on Reddit regarding a new release titled ‘Mafia 2 Remake’.

The original Mafia II was a sequel to the first game released in 2002. Mafia II takes place in the fictional city of Empire Bay around the 1940s and 50s. It follows the criminal life of the Sicilian-American mobster and war veteran Vito Scaletta.

Similar to the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Mafia involves you completing a series of missions to defeat the game. These include activities such as casual driving, races, evading authorities, and combat.

Thus, when news about a ‘Mafia II Remake’ first surfaced, fans were highly intrigued. Apparently, this remake will be available only on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and PC. Furthermore, it is set to include features like Native 4K 60FPS resolution, open-world gameplay, and content that was previously cut out from the original game.

What improvements will the Mafia II remake include?

Other additions to the remake come in the form of:

• New cars
• Motorbikes
•  Melee weapons
•  Improved hand to hand combat
• Side missions (friends, contacts, assassination contracts, random strangers)
•  Vito has the option to go on dates
• Improved clothing stores
•  Better gun stores
•  Improved restaurants and food places

Barbershops

• Dog and horse races (can place bets)
• Shooting range (at select gun stores)
• Ability to purchase homes and furnish them

While all Mafia fans are united in the fact that they want to see this remake, the community is divided as to whether these rumors have any substance to them. Most of the comments talk about how these features would be amazing if they were actually bought into existence. However, these fans also believe that there is a very slim chance that this will happen.
