Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard fueled a new wave of excitement amongst Xbox owners. Many subscribers of the gaming giant’s subscription services were hoping to witness a new era of titles as free games each month. But this wasn’t the case.
Even though the acquisition is not complete yet, fans expected to see a breath of fresh air coming in February. Unfortunately, titles arriving as a part of Games with Gold for the coming month have been nothing short of a letdown. Fans took to Twitter to voice their concerns and opinions after an upsetting lineup, especially when compared to their arch-nemesis, PlayStation’s PS Plus offerings.
Games with Gold for February kicks off with Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse and Hydrophobia, followed by Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield and Band of Bugs. Details here: https://t.co/3cHlYUZjUA

Xbox: Fans outrage on Twitter as Games with Gold disappoints
Games with Gold traditionally offers four games (two each from Series X|S/ Xbox One and Xbox 360) for free each month, with the first batch available on the first day, and the second one coming out on the 16th. Sadly for Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, February has been extremely discouraging.
oh man just get rid of games with gold
— Andry (@actual_torture) January 27, 2022
And if they did away with it sooner, at least then I wouldn't have to get my hopes up every month for OG titles.

The games offered are Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse, Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield, Hydrophobia, and Band of Bugs. However, Hydrophobia and Band of Bugs are both Xbox 360 games. Whereas PlayStation Plus offered Planet Coaster, a PS5 game for free. This enraged fans on the internet space and they did not hold back from expressing their thoughts.
I mean ps+ games for February weren’t the best but at least they didn’t give us ps3 games and gave us one PS5 game. Two of the GWG ones are 360 games? Wut.😐 pic.twitter.com/qTvk74t3kp

Some fans even suggested measures that Xbox could take to avoid this reception from the fans. Interestingly, many individuals suggested the company ceases its Game with Gold service.
Get rid of GWG and reduce the Ult price down to 10 dollars
— PTR Crispy (@PTRCrispy) January 27, 2022
GWG has been mid since game pass existed. I hope at some point they just get rid of gold. Idk anyone who is just paying for gold.

While the others simply berated the offerings and did not seem to hold back in any sense.
Man you guys need to genuinely have to have a talk about the quality of titles
— SweatyThighs (@Venom_Big_Boss) January 27, 2022
Not gonna lie, this is embarrassing compared to PlayStation's PS+ games..
Sure we have @XboxGamePass , but a little quality in #GamesWithGold would be nice.

Xbox’s subscribers take a dig at the tech giants
One Xbox service subscriber even called out the company, taking a dig at the billion-dollar Activision deal. While other simply hinted that PS Plus is better than what “Xbox Live Gold members get”.

— Jambor Zsolt (@JamborZsolt5) January 27, 2022
You can afford activision but can't afford to give at least known games
— David Battersby (@DavidBattersby0) January 27, 2022
Gotta love how sony will offer COD Black ops 4 and titanfall 2 for PS+ subscribers, what do Xbox Live Gold members get? B u g s
