Nintendo dropped its DS family back in the 2000s with a dream of reaching out to millions of gamers. They wanted to introduce a new era of gaming with their cordless products as it would become easier for users to game despite being at any place in the world. 

The Japanese giant released the second version in the 3DS family in 2012, taking fans into a new era of gaming. With the title Nintendo 2DS, the franchise added top games like Animal Crossing, Mario Kart 7, The Legend Of Zelda, and many more. However, with time, fans moved on to better consoles, upgrading their Nintendo products to the latest.

But that does not mean all fans give away their previously owned consoles, as they consider them to be an important part of their life. They cherish the products, featuring them in different instances of life. Such has been the case with avid Nintendo user, Lucas, who’s featured his 2DS on a Twitter post. Although, he’s not just featured the console in the post, as fans spotted a massive mention of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

On September 8, 2022, the longest reigning queen of the United Kingdom, breathed her last at the Balmoral Castle. She passed away at 96, leaving behind the prestigious throne in the hands of King Charles III. So, to honor her, the government of the United Kingdom, announced the seven-day mourning right after her funeral. After all, they lost their most powerful monarch.

During this time, a Nintendo fan grabbed the right opportunity to create the perfect mod. He featured the former Queen of the UK on his Nintendo 2DS console, posting about the same on his Twitter account. He posted an image of the same that flashed an important message on his screen“Queen Elizabeth II – 1926 – 2022, This device is unavailable for the Royal period of mourning and will continue to be until Monday 19th September.”

Fans quickly reacted to his post as they remained baffled by this strange mod. Here’s what they had to say.

With that being said, the whole remained shocked by the passing of the Royal Majesty. But, the Nintendo 2DS feature wasn’t something that anyone ever expected.
