Sonic the Hedgehog is a Japanese video game series and media franchise created by Sega. In the history of games, Sonic holds one of the most important and influential places. It is considered one of the legends of interactive media, up there with Mario, Tetris, and more.
But unfortunately, the series witnessed a dry spell for quite some while, as the new games and other adaptations weren’t working. Even the loyal fandom was losing their faith, with a plethora of trolls and memes against them. But as the year 2022 hit, a breath of fresh air filled with hope blessed the series.
New Sonic Prime promises a SonicVerse much like the Spiderman
On November 17, 2022, Official Trailer #2 of the highly anticipated Sonic Netflix adaptation was finally unveiled. We got the first look at the series back in September, but that didn’t reveal anything about the series’ plot or setting. But thanks to the newly released trailer, we and the fans have got some good information about what the series is going to be about.
From the first look, it can be said for sure that the series will dive into the concept of the multiverse. As seen in the trailer, Sonic breaks Eggman’s foggy paradox prism and gets thrown into a world where nobody recognizes him. This new world gives off apocalyptic/ dictator government vibes where the Evil Eggman rules with an Iron Glove!

The whole adaptation seems to be heavily inspired by series like ‘Into the Spider-Verse’, ‘Dr. Strange Multiverse of Madness’, and such. In the trailer, it is hinted that in this new world of hurt, the classic sonic characters will make their appearances but with a brand-new look! Like Pirate Knuckles, Cyborg Amy, and more.
Sonic Prime is a joint production by Sega, WildBrain Studios, and Man of Action Entertainment. According to the available sources, it is expected that the first season of the show will have around eight episodes. The show is set for release on December 15, 2022.
