The upcoming sequel of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild is almost here. Named, The Tears of the Kingdom is making the community hyped to the moon. For a long time, the professional content creation side of the franchise had been weak. As the gap between the game had the creators ‘scrapping the barrel’.

Although from a professional standpoint, this demeanor could be justified, the community wasn’t so happy about the creators making lengthy videos which, according to them, had ‘practically zero’ new information. Some of the fans went as far as explicitly bashing and spreading toxicity against the streamers.

While the release date of the upcoming Zelda title is coming closer and closer every single day, the YouTube community is becoming more and more to keep the fans hyped up for the title. With newfound traffic is coming a fresh wave of toxicity. Getting fed up with the constant barrage of negativity against social media creators, some fans became vocal on the internet.

On r/tearsofthekingdom, fans made a lengthy post discussing this situation. A user named Existing-Bother-4741, wrote “I’ve seen some people outrightly trash some Zelda Tubers, and I found it disheartening and disappointing.” expressing their distaste towards the ongoing toxicity that is plaguing the online platforms.

“It’s also been very difficult to be a Zelda Tuber recently with the Zelda Drought & the secrecy of TOTK’s marketing. They had very little to work from for the past several years, meaning they had no choice but to scrape the barrel, content-wise.” Understanding the perils of being a content creator of a specific subject, the Redditor presented some brilliant points.

In the replies other fans also joined in pointing out the main problem is not the ‘scrapping the barrel’ content or the style a creator presents their content in, but the practice of spreading false hope and spreading misinformation or using clickbaity titles that jeopardize the integrity of the community.

Other fans join in to point out the problem

A user replied in the comments, saying, “I don’t care for the ones who upload videos with blatantly false premises for views. Like “[x feature] CONFIRMED!” or etc. when nothing of the sort is confirmed (and they often even say as much in the video). Some grifty Content Creators have this worldview that says lying pervasively is not only OK, but the wisest thing to do, business-wise. Can’t respect it, don’t think it should be rewarded.”

And the train continues…
