Nintendo Switch is an extremely successful console. Ever since its launch in 2017, it has quickly risen up to the second-best-selling console of all time, contrary to what many would have expected. In no small part, this achievement came Nintendo’s way thanks to the abundance of exciting first-party Nintendo titles.
Games like Pokemon, The Legend of Zelda, and Super Mario played a pivotal part in making the console iconic. One thing, however, had never been clear: Even though the Nintendo Switch was targeted at a hardcore gaming crowd, who was actually buying it?
It appears nearly 52% of Nintendo Switch owners in the USA are female!

Nintendo turned the tables with its latest console, the Switch. The console followed the classic Nintendo console trajectory, breaking records while doing something unique at the same time. Nintendo’s consoles are known to break the bounds of interactivity and how people play and still sell more than the competition. Heck, Nintendo’s consoles are known for being trailblazers, even when they fail.
One peculiar thing is that their target buyers have always remained the same: families. With the Wii U and Nintendo Switch, however, they did something different. Nintendo targeted the dedicated enthusiast from the gaming crowd. The handheld, in particular, gave many a chance to play those triple-A hardcore games anywhere they wanted. Be it on a big screen or on a subway train.
Additionally, a recent report suggests that nearly 52% of its owners are female gamers. There has been significant discourse concerning female gamers and their involvement in the industry from work to playing, and evidently, they play much more than Sims 4.

An even more interesting fact is that around 47% of the USA’s console gamers are female too. Consoles sell in millions of units, which pretty much means there are millions of female gamers in the USA alone, debunking the myth that there are only a few female gamers.
Nintendo, thanks to its innovative strategies, has been able to capture a demographic that has seemingly been missed by other console manufacturers. Establishing itself as the console with the highest number of female gamers, Nintendo with the Switch has ensured that no one is left behind in the gaming revolution.
